At CFMSP, we are dedicated to looking at fitness as a long term commitment. While CrossFit is a key part of realizing that vision, one must not ignore the importance of Nutrition and Recovery as part of the overall picture for long-term health and fitness.  Not trying to over simplify, but your food is your fuel.  You would never put 87 octane junk gas in a Race Car, why would you do otherwise to the most important asset you have?

We don't advocate "dieting".  We prescribe eating a healthy, balanced diet in adequate proportions of carbohydrates, protein, and fat at every meal and snack.  Some may have heard of a program called "The Zone", or a formula of macronutrients called 40-30-30 (40% carbohydrates, 30% protein and 30% fat). We believe that attention should be given to a balanced diet of high quality, nutrient-rich foods to fuel your body helping to support the demands of CrossFit.

Consistency is the key.  Remember, when you are not training, your body is recovering and rebuilding for the next time you "take it out on the track".  Balance is what we strive for.  We are not nutritionists by any means, but do have first hand experience with "practicing what we preach".  If you would like more information, we would be happy to share our experiences and knowledge with you.
