What's stopping you?

Admit it, how many times in your life you have said or thought the following – “I’d really like to do that, but________”…(you fill in the blank). What is truly stopping you? A fear of failure? A fear of stepping outside your comfort zone? A lack of support from those around you?, or from within? What?

I know it is easy to intellectualize and hard to implement, but I would be willing to bet that many of you at CrossFit MSP (CFMSP) have asked yourself this question, and to your credit, took the initiative to answer it by becoming an active member of our Community. At CFMSP, on a daily basis we try new things. We push the boundaries of what we think we "should" be doing. We push the boundaries on what think we “can” do. All the while, building the confidence to realize that there is little we "can't" do if we just try. So, what’s stopping you?

I was recently thinking about this on the way home from a WOD. Besides feeling the royal ass-kicking, I also realized that in the few months I have been at CFMSP, I have challenged several pre-existing self-doubts. It's amazing how it can change so much, so quickly. smilies/smiley.gif

Thank you, Michael and Van, for creating a community that leaves us with so much more than another workout!

I'd like to second what Michaela said. Thank you for not only pushing me at every WOD, but giving me the confidence to push myself even when I am not at CFMSP!

Postscript... Nice job, Pete!

Tania, you said it! Truly inspiring.

I have to say, I was inspired today with the morning class. Observing the HIGH quality lifting going on is such a treat for me. I talk with people about CrossFit all the time and I hear "Ohhhh, I can't do that" or "That looks really hard/scary etc..."

I look at this mornings class rockin' and rolling with the WOD and shake my head in amazement at what I was seeing. To those who thinks they "can't...", they have no idea what they are capable of, all one has to do is have the willingness to just try. Kudos to all of you for just trying!

Great article! One of the things I like most about crossfit is we are day regularly pushing and redefining our limitations. I think in most aspects of life, a majority of people do not even know where their current limitations are because they fear to challenge them. I know challenging mine has lead to more self confidence in other aspects of life.

Worked out from home today
10rounds of 10 pushups 10 situps 10 air squats
